Dunnottar Parish Church has entered a union with Stonehaven South Church to become in what is now known as Stonehaven Carronside Church of Scotland. This will continue the proud history of Christian witness dating back to the 5th century when the earliest church was built. The unified parish is on the south side of the town of Stonehaven and includes the Old Town with its harbour, part of the “new” town, a substantial rural area which includes the world famous Dunnottar Castle.

The Rev Rosslyn Duncan demitted office on Monday 7th May 2018 and ceased to be Minister of the charge of Stonehaven Dunnottar linked with Stonehaven South at that point.

When a parish become vacant, presbytery appoints an Interim Moderator to ensure the parish runs smoothly during the vacancy, and to help in the search for a new minister.

David Galbraith, who is the Presbytery Elder for West Mearns Parish, was appointed Interim Moderator of Stonehaven Dunnottar linked with Stonehaven South. He has recent experience of overseeing a vacancy as he was part of the West Mearns Parish Nominating Committee as they searched for, and found, their new minister.

We are now looking for a minister to lead us in this development as one parish, fully integrated in all we do. Our Profile document can be accessed by clicking on this link.

Looking toward the future the churches at Stonehaven Carronside expects to continue to offer the people of Stonehaven opportunities for worship and witness in God's service and to share equally with all other Christian churches in the Stonehaven area in preaching the Gospel and ministering to the people of God.

Current information on Carronside Churches' ministry, activities and contacts can be found in the current issue of the church's “connecTions magazine”.
