Maintenance Planning & Safety Certification

Maintenance Plan

The Kirk Session has approved a 7-year planning cycle for each building, prepared by the Property Committee. The programmes can be viewed by contacting the Property Convenor.

Mandatory Safety Checks

Certificates and reports from regular safety checks are displayed in the relevant building.

Fire Alarms: The systems in the Church and St Bridget's are inspected and serviced every 6 months by an accredited contractor

Fire Extinguishers: those in the Church, St Bridget's and the Manse are inspected and serviced annually by an accredited contractor.

Gas Appliances: The gas supply, central heating boiler and cooker in St Bridget's are inspected and serviced annually by an accredited local contractor, who provides a “Gas Safe” certificate.

Manse Central Heating: The oil-fired central heating boiler in the Manse is inspected and serviced annually by an accredited local contractor.

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Tests): All portable electrical appliances in our buildings receive PAT tests on a 2 year cycle.

Electrical Installations: The electrical installations in our buildings are inspected on a 5-year cycle and up-graded as necessary.
